last august, i ran my first 6k race. i'm proud to say i finished at under 45 minutes. i told one of my managers about it the next day, and he said that's actually an impressive time for a beginner. all i got to show for was this certificate and a shirt. but that's ok, it was all for the experience of running with other people and the sense of accomplishment going through that finish line.

encouraged by that first run, i signed up for another race. this time, it's a 10k, so technically, i'm in competition with other runners. at $65 sgd, i got a lot more. freebies! i love freebies.

i haven't been training hard (er, not training at all!), because of work (yep, there's always an excuse). i still have two more weeks to catch up on the training. let's hope that''ll be enough for me to finish at a respectable time. i don't expect to finish at under an hour, but i'll do my best.
